Commissioner McCarty created the Business Development Unit to promote the benefits of expanding or moving
lines of business to Florida and facilitating the process for new and established insurance companies. The
primary role of the unit is to identify solvent companies, communicate the positive aspects of the Florida
marketplace, and encourage them to apply for licensure here.
