Unlicensed Medicare Part D Providers
The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)1
has granted a three-year federal waiver to certain companies allowing them to sell Medicare
Part D, the Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs), in Florida. The following companies have
obtained the federal waiver but are currently not licensed by
the State of Florida:
- Bravo Health Insurance Company, Inc.
- Fox Insurance Company
- HealthSpring of Alabama, Inc. & Health Spring, Inc.
Since the companies are not licensed to operate in Florida,
they do not file policy forms, rates, or financial reports with the Florida Office of Insurance
Regulation and they are not members of the Florida Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association (FLHIGA). No coverage is afforded by FLHIGA in the event of impairment or
insolvency of the entity.
