Florida Deputy Insurance Commissioner Mary Beth Senkewicz will testify before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce, and the District of Columbia at a hearing to examine the Federal Long-Term Care Insurance Program.

What:

Deputy Commissioner Senkewicz will speak to the joint Senate committees and offer comments on how the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ (NAIC) Long-Term Care Model Regulation could apply to the Federal Long-Term Care Insurance Program. Protections in the NAIC Model Regulation, adopted in 2000, are designed to ensure that insurance companies price the product adequately when coverage begins so that there is never a need for rate increases over the life of the policy.
