Regarding Cotton States Mutual Insurance Company’s Homeowners Rate Request
Tallahassee – The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has announced a public hearing regarding a proposed rate increase filed by Cotton States Mutual Insurance Company. The rate filing is for Cotton States' Homeowners Insurance Program.
Cotton States' filing requests an average statewide rate increase of 32.5%. The average rate change varies by county. A list of average, county rate changes is included with this notice.
The Florida Administrative Code (Rule 4-166.051, F.A.C.) requires a public hearing to be held when a rate filing exceeds 25% and results in additional premium greater than two million dollars. Cotton States' rate filing meets these two criteria.
Interested parties who would like to participate in the hearing are invited to attend. The hearing will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., on Tuesday June 17, 2003. The hearing will take place at:
