Initial Damage Reports Released For Hurricane Dennis

Tallahassee – The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation received
initial claims reports from insurers showing that at the end of the first week of reporting, insurance claims resulting from Hurricane Dennis total 46,394 statewide. To date, insurers have paid out more than $47 million on these claims. Overall, early reporting indicates that total damages are estimated to be more than $947 million.
More than 75 percent of the reported claims to date were reported in Santa Rosa, Escambia and Okaloosa counties although claims were reported in every county except Union. Reported lines of insurance include commercial, residential and commercial residential property.
