Florida Office Of Insurance Regulation Sets Public Hearings For QBE, Citizens

Tallahassee -The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will conduct public hearings in Miami and Clearwater concerning rate filings by QBE Insurance Corporation and Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. QBE is proposing a statewide average of 38 percent. Citizens is proposing increases from 22.6 percent to 68.2 percent statewide. The requested rates were not uniform and some areas are subject to a higher rate increase.
The QBE hearings will be at the Manuel Artime Theater, 900 SW 1st Street, Miami, on Jan. 31 at 10:00 a.m. and again at 6:00 p.m.
The Citizens hearings will be at the same location, Manuel Artime Theater, on Feb. 1 at 10:00 a.m. and at 6:00 p.m. The Citizens hearings will move to The Harborview Center, 300 Cleveland Street, Clearwater, on Feb. 2 at 6:00 p.m. and on Feb. 3 at 10:00 a.m.
