Commissioner McCarty Subpoenas State Farm For Public Hearing On Policies And Rates
TALLAHASSEE - Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty issued
subpoenas to State Farm Florida Insurance Company, State Farm Florida Fire and Casualty Insurance Company and State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, directing the three Florida subsidiaries to appear in a public hearing in Tallahassee. The subpoenas served on State Farm cite their recently filed non-renewal plans, multi-lines discounts, State Farm's decision to withdraw from condominium business in Florida, and the impact these decisions may have on State Farm's rates.
The public hearing is scheduled to be held at the Senate Office Building, Room 301, at the Capitol on August 14 at 9:30 a.m.
The hearing is open to the public, and input from interested parties is welcomed. Those unable to attend the public hearing are welcome to forward comments to the Office at
ratehearings@fldfs.com. The subject lines of the emails should read "State Farm Hearing."
