WHAT: The Florida Health Insurance Advisory Board (FHIAB)
will hold a public meeting Friday in Tallahassee.
Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty is the
FHIAB chairman.
The FHIAB will: hear a report from Office of
Insurance Regulation Interim Director of Life
and Health Product Review Eric Lingswiler on
the implementation of 2008 Florida legislation;
discuss its 2009 legislative recommendations;
hear a consumer perspective presentation from
Lori Parham, state director for AARP Florida, on
providing quality, affordable health care
coverage to Floridians; see a demonstration of
the Office of Insurance Regulation’s Medicare
Supplement Insurance Rate Comparison Web
site.
