Developmental Disabilities Compact Signatories
Pursuant to the requirements of 624.916, Florida Statutes, also known as the
"Window of Opportunity Act,"
the Office of Insurance Regulation convened the Developmental Disabilities
Compact Workgroup (DDCW) to
negotiate an agreement outlining coverage that could be offered in lieu of the
"Steven A. Geller Autism Act."
The deliberations of the DDCW led to the adoption of the
Developmental Disabilities
Compact.
The following companies have become a signatory to this compact; therefore,
their plans offered to large
groups in Florida are released from the requirements of the Geller Act and they
will be required to offer the
compact coverage for plans issued or renewed to these groups on or after January
1, 2010.
