Public Hearing Set For Rate Filings By Allstate Floridian Companies
Tallahassee (November 1, 2006) – The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (Office) has scheduled a public hearing tomorrow on rate filings submitted by Allstate Floridian Insurance Company and Allstate Floridian Indemnity Company. The hearing for these rate filings will be held in Tallahassee, in the Senate Office Building, Room 401, at The Capitol.
Allstate Floridian Insurance Company and Allstate Floridian Indemnity Company have requested average statewide increases of 22.5 and 33.2 percent, respectively, for their homeowners insurance rates in Florida. The public hearing for these filings will take place November 2, 2006, at 1:00 p.m.
The requested rates are not uniform and some areas in the state are subject to higher or lower rate changes. Florida law requires that the Office hold public hearings on rate filings for statewide average increases exceeding 15 percent when a private hurricane model is used or for any purpose deemed necessary by the Office.
This hearing is open to the public and input from interested parties is welcome. Those unable to attend the public hearing may forward comments to the Office at
