Thursday, November 13, 2014
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (Office) has approved an overall decrease of 5.2% in workers’ compensation insurance rates in Florida, the first decrease in four years. The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), which represents about 250 insurers, submitted a corrected rate filing Tuesday at the direction of the Office, following its disapproval of NCCI’s original rate filing request. Insurance Commissioner McCarty signed the Final Order yesterday, making the new rates effective January 1, 2015 for both new and renewal policies.
