The Florida Office of Insurance
Regulation (Office) will conduct a public hearing to discuss the annual
NCCI rate filing which proposes a rate decrease for the workers’ compensation
line of insurance. NCCI is a licensed rating organization authorized to make
rate filings on behalf of approximately 260 workers’ compensation insurance
companies doing business in Florida.
NCCI has proposed an overall
average decrease in rate levels of 1.9% for the voluntary market for all new
and renewal workers’ compensation insurance policies written in Florida,
effective January 1, 2016. The filing also requests a decrease to the fixed
expense cost applicable to every workers’ compensation policy in Florida from
$200 to $160, which when combined with the rate level decrease, results in an
overall average premium decrease of 2.2%. Read the Office statement issued on August 21, 2015.
