Florida Insurance Commissioner David Altmaier Voted NAIC President-Elect
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Florida
Insurance Commissioner David Altmaier was voted President-Elect of the National
Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), effective January 1, 2020. Commissioner
Altmaier served as Vice President of the NAIC during 2019.
“As
one of the largest, most complex insurance markets in the world, it is critical
for Florida to have a seat at the table for state, national, and global regulatory
discussions. I am glad that Commissioner Altmaier will play a leading role in these
critical areas,” said Governor Ron DeSantis.
“As
President-Elect, I have every confidence that Commissioner Altmaier will be an
advocate for Florida’s consumers. This national role will help ensure Florida
is top of mind when decisions are made. I look forward to continue working with
him in this position of leadership,” said Chief Financial Officer Jimmy
Patronis.
