The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) announced today that premiums for Florida individual major medical plans in compliance with the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) have been approved for plan year 2022.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) has received the 2022 Florida workers’ compensation rate filing by the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), which proposes a statewide average premium decrease of 4.9%. The new rates would become effective January 1, 2022.

​Tallahassee, Fla. - Following Governor DeSantis’ Executive Orders 21-150 and 21-151 in response to Tropical Storm Elsa, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) issued the following notice to all health insurers, managed care organizations and other health entities licensed by OIR. This notice is a reminder that all health insurers, managed care organizations, and other health entities must comply with must comply with the provisions of section 252.358, Florida Statutes, which allows for early prescription refills in the event that the Governor issues an Executive Order declaring a State of Emergency or when a county Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is activated.

Tallahassee, Fla. - The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) has established the 2021 personal property insurance rates for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (Citizens). The OIR held a virtual public rate hearing on March 15, 2021, to receive testimony from Citizens in support of its rate recommendations and provide members of the public an opportunity to comment on the rate filings. Following a review of the complete record, the OIR has established the rates for Citizens personal lines and coastal accounts. The effective date for both new and renewal policies is August 1, 2021.

This applies to both new and renewal workers’ compensation insurance policies effective in Florida as of January 1, 2021.
