Florida Office Of Insurance Regulation Announces Staff Changes

TALLAHASSEE (6/22/2007) - Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty today announced new staff changes for the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. 
"The new additions to our management team give the Office an exceptional combination of experience, talent, and expertise; these outstanding professionals will give the State of Florida the leadership it deserves during the 2007 hurricane season and beyond," noted Commissioner Kevin McCarty.

Belinda Miller, who has served as the interim Deputy Commissioner of Property and Casualty Insurance since October of 2006, has officially been appointed to serve in this capacity.  Ms. Miller has 20 years of insurance experience and served in numerous senior management capacities during her exemplary career including, Director of Legal Services, Director of Insurer Services and the Director of Rehabilitation and Liquidation. Ms. Miller earned a bachelor's degree in international studies from Emory University and Juris Doctor from Florida State University.

Mary Beth Senkewicz has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Life and Health. Ms. Senkewicz's has more than 25 years of legal and insurance experience, and has previously held positions with the United States Attorney's Office, United States Court of Appeals, the Wyoming Insurance Department and served as the Senior Counsel for Health Policy for 12 years with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners office in Washington, D.C. She earned a bachelor's degree in English and philosophy from Cabrini College and a Juris Doctor from St. John's University.

Audrey Sumrall Brown has been appointed as the new Deputy Chief of Staff and will oversee Cabinet Affairs, Market Research, issues involving the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and will handle other administrative functions. Ms. Brown will be rejoining the Office after holding various positions at the Office of Insurance Regulation, Avmed Health Plans, and the Executive Office of Governor Jeb Bush. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Florida State University.
