Notice to Industry: OIR's Office of Inspector General Seeks CFA Reaccreditation

Nov 14, 2022

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation's (OIR) Office of Inspector General (OIG) will be undergoing an assessment by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) in an effort to retain accredited status. On December 15, 2022, the CFA assessment team will examine all aspects of OIR's OIG Investigations Section, including policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.

OIR's OIG must comply with numerous standards in order to retain accredited status. A copy of the accreditation standards is available through the CFA website at www.flaccreditation.org

As part of the assessment, OIR staff and members of the general public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team by writing to:

Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation
P.O. Box 1489, Tallahassee, Florida 32302
Email: flaccreditation@fdle.state.fl.us

After the CFA assessment team completes their review of OIR's OIG, they will provide their review to the CFA, which will then determine if OIR's OIG retains its accredited status. Participation in the accreditation process is voluntary and, if granted, will be for a three-year period.
